RYSE TAGUA EARRINGS. Ryse is named after my Ecuador daughter Damarys (da-ma-reese). Americans always have trouble with her name so we nicknamed her Ryse. She models for me so you see her often. I’m so proud of her and thrilled to have created such a cool earring as her namesake. Ryse is very unique, a statement earring, and exclusively Tagua Bella.

Tagua is a nut from a palm tree, found only in South America. Most is found in Ecuador, in my Manabi region along the coast. It is commonly called vegetable ivory. It is so close in makeup and appearance, it is difficult to distinguish from animal ivory. Gathering the fallen tagua, has many benefits economically and naturally sustains the rainforest. It causes no harm, unlike the cruel world of sourcing animal ivory. Our beads are the nut of açaí  berries, commonly referred to and sold as tagua. Like tagua, açaí is a nut from a palm tree, found in South America’s equatorial rainforests.
